Create a Project
A REDCINE-X PRO project (.rcx file) is a way of organizing links and settings for multiple R3D files.
Follow the instructions below to create a project:
- Create before edits: Go to File > New Project.
- Create after edits: Go to File > Save Project or File > Save Project As....

NOTE: Relocating or renaming R3D or audio files after you have synchronized audio changes the referenced file path and requires you to relink R3D files and resynchronize audio.

Create a Sequence
A sequence is a series of clips on a timeline. To create a sequence, perform one of the following:
- Click
(Gear Menu) and select New Sequence.
- Right-click in the Project group and select New Sequence.

Create a Bin
A bin is a folder that includes clips. To create a bin, perform one of the following:
- Click
(Gear Menu) and select New Bin.
- Right-click in Project group and select New Bin.
- Right-click a project folder and select New Bin.

Filter Media
You can filter media in bins based on the label and rating. To apply a filter, click the Filter drop-down menu and select or deselect filter options. To add a label and rating to a bin or media clip, go to Bin Features.
Bin Features
To create a bin subfolder, label, delete, rename, or rate a bin, right-click a bin and select one of the following:
- New Bin: Create a bin subfolder.
- Label: Label the bin using different colors.
- Delete: Remove all clips inside the bin.
- Rename...: Rename the bin folder.
- Rating: Add rating stars to the bin.
Add R3D Files to a Project or Timeline
To add R3D files to a project or timeline, follow the instructions below:
- Go to the File Browser tab.
- Browse and find the R3D file(s) that you want.
- Add the R3D file(s) to your project or timeline by performing one of the following:
- Drag the R3D file to the Project tab.
- Select a Project folder. Then right-click an R3D file and select Add to Current Bin.

Restore Auto-Saved Projects
To restore an auto-saved project, follow the instructions below:
- Go to File > Restore Project....

- Select the project that you want to restore.
NOTE: REDCINE-X PRO stores up to 10 auto-saved projects.
- Click Restore.
